Hi Guys, During the process of moving home to New Zealand my on-board pre-amp on my beloved Harley Benton B-450 Progressive Serie Bass died. With the local shop saying they can't source the parts for it, they suggested I scour the internet. That's when I thought of you top guys and gals here in the forum. Any suggestions of what brand and where I could get the parts from would be much appreciated. (Please keep in mind that a new one is only worth £133 although postage would significantly swell that figure.) www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_b_450_black_progressive_serie.htm?ref=prod_variations_217546_2Thanks

If you want to go cheap check out Artec, I've used these a few times. More upmarket, Glockenklang and EMG, the Glockenklang preamps are very neutral, the EMG's are very EMG but not bad. I prefer the Glockenklang's but but the EMG's are a good choice as well. The Glockenklang and EMG will cost almost as much as the bass!

You could have a look if that cheap but good preamp would suit you: www.musikding.de/Classic-Bass-Preamp-Preamp-BausatzIt´s intended for a Stingray like preamp so you would have to look on how to connect this preamp to a 2-humbucker setup. Otherwise Glockenklang or Noll preamps are very good but pricey in comparison to a new bass.
