hi to all - from mighty Delaware...! just received my new CTS 24 in ocean flame such a sweet deal for the price - well made in general, frets are rally nice out of the box - a little polish is needed, fret end are great and the binding as well. the neck is straight and very playable (with the added volute as a nice touch) comfortable c shape the body is great and nice looking with binding, the tuners are a little lacking , the pickups sound great and that's why i bought the guitar in the first place was not having a guitar with the p90's in it. i don't know how good they are compared to other P90 pickups but they re killing my little amp...! and i love it - the ohms are 10 on the neck and 7.4 on the bridge pickup 4. something for both. i'd like to replace the tuners (seems like that's the big question around here) what replacement tuners (locking) that i can swap out for my CST 24...?
thanks in advance for your comments and answer (ifn i get one) great guitar and i love playing it - it's a great addition to my hareem...!

Hi bongoslade I got a CST24 earlier this year and it really filled a gap in my stable. Love the crunch and hi gain of the humbuckers, the finish is unreal for the money, but yes, the tuners and the pots are an issue that I will have to upgrade eventually. I'm thinking of getting the 3+3 Ratio locking tuners as I've heard really good things, link those are for the poor unfortunately lefties like me, but obviously are available for righties. The pots are a different kettle of fish though, will need to do some research before getting some upgrades.

Hi bongoslade I got a CST24 earlier this year and it really filled a gap in my stable. Love the crunch . me too dude - got to fill those needs - guitar-wise i'm sure i bought RATIO tuners for my Epiphone ES-339 (beautiful guitar) and i love them - very pricey though - i would like something for a little less money... when i change strings i'll do a deeper dive for dimensions (machine heads hole diameter), polish up some frets and look at the pickup situation as well - mind you the Roswell pickups are sounding awesome to me - but other P90's might be better i don't know HB CST 24T - is a great guitar - in general - and at that price - it's an amazing guitar sure i'd like to replace the pots but that will be last

I can "second" the GrafTech Ratio tuners . Put them on a Gretsch 5260 Baritone, Silky smooth, and not difficult to install
Watch HB on the peg head hole diameter though ... they tend to run small (I had to ream out my TE 52 to install Gotoh vintage inline)...
I would check into PRS SE locking tuners. Not bad price, and designed to fit the guitar the CST is modeled after ...

So Bongoslade, What did you do for tuners ? The HB YouTuber John Robson suggests a UK brand Vanson (which I guess are available in the US) and fairly inexpensive I would probably splurge for the PRS SE lockers, assuming they will fit without drilling & reaming (although I am gaining some experience with the reaming a bit) I have installed 3 or 4 sets of those puppies ... This guitar is my chosen P90 platform for now, as Fender has lost its mind on the $800 US price for a Player Mustang P90, which would be my first choice (24" scale length) but is about $250 overpriced ...(more if the CST 24 P90 is as good as I am hearing)

Gotoh 3x3 LOCKING TUNERS is what i'm waiting on - i hate waiting for parts...ha i am LOVING the p90's - they are so complex and - just everything i was missing - in fact - i want to put a p90 in the neck on my Paranormal offset telecaster (JazzCaster) - i just think they are so smooth and Ballsy ...!

I installed Gotoh MD T 91's (or something crazy like that) in one of my TE 52's . They work great, reasonably priced But on the TE 52 at least, because of its "Vintage" lineage ... I had to mill out the peg hear holes, as on the TE 52, they come stock at 8mm diameter, and the Gotohs start at 8.5 mm. Not a big change, but for a novice (in milling) ... it can get messy, and you don't want to go too big (if you do, the Gotohs also come with a set of 9mm ferrules) ... Since the CST24 is more modern ... maybe it will be just a pop in ... I'm thinking that I too will have to cop a CST 24 90 ... price & features (and looks & sound) ... too hard to pass up ...

I see this is an older thread but thought I’d revive it for a min. I just got my first HB and man, I am impressed! Got the CST-24t in Ocean Flame and she’s a stunner! A bit more dark green than the web site indicates but no complaints here. As everyone states here, the only real hardware that falls short is the tuners and maybe the pots. After much reading, I sprung for the PRS locking tuners and they are an exact fit! So smooth. Looks the part. While the strings were off I polished the frets and oiled the board and lowered the action just a hair. That’s it!! Honestly more impressed with this (now)$450 investment (incld shipping) than I am with my Fender American Ultra strat. Not apples to apples but still, $450 hangs with $2150??? As soon as I figure out how to post pix, I will.
