As far as I can see the pick guards dimensions for the TE-62 and TE-52 are the same. However the Harley Benton Tele pick guard sold separately www.thomann.de/nl/goeldo_pgt1b_pickguard_tele.htm has totally different dimensions on the diagram. So I assume that one is not a nice fit; it seems much shorter than the Te-62 one and it has a narrower neck space. I suppose the diagram on the Thomann site is correct. Where can I find the (best) fitting black pick guard for a TE-62? Thanx

I don't know about the best, but I did by 3 tele pickguards, 3-ply, for my Teles, for the Music Dreamer Store on Aliexpress. Most of the pickguards you will find on ebay are from Aliexpress anyway, so why not buy directly (cheaper too)?
The only negative points are: - I think I had to fill in and drill another hole, which was a valuable learning experience, 'cause I have also modded my Strat similarly after that. - There is a slightly bigger gap between the pickguard and the bridge plate, compared to stock. Also, the pickguard edges, left and right, do not have the same distance from the bridge plate edges - so the pickguard is lightly off-set to the right. Parallel to the bridge plate, but slightly off-set, if you know that I mean.
These are, for me, minor differences that only add to the "modding" and barebone, Tele character of the guitar. I don't mind them at all, the guitar is gorgeous.
My modding project was a TE 30, but I suspect the shape is the same for all HB Teles (with the exception of the TE 20 - maybe...).
I haven't tried Musiclily on Amazon, but it could be another good option.
I hope I have helped.

In a sense this is what I did, but pick guards quickly become expensive that way . 2 questions. Was the hole that you had to fill a hole that was visible, not covered by the pickguard? Was the cut out space for the top of the control plate in the correct place?

Yeah, I thought about that "Te-52 buying solution" myself, but it is not really very cost effective. On the plus side, you get another guitar for free and the the TE-52 pickups also sound better to my ears. Also, you could paint the pickguard black if you wanted to. I haven't tried that (yet) but I have seen many who, very successfully, have. There is a Facebook group called Harley Benton modding and more, you should check it out. Now, with regards to your questions: - All the holes that I had to fill where inside the new pickguard space, i.e. covered by the pickguard and therefore not visible. - I had to use a bit of sanding to the pickguard, to make it fit to the control plate. But otherwise, no big deal. That was easy too. Do bear in mind that this was the first time I was performing these mods. After so many holes, I consider myself some kind of an expert. In guitar holes, anyway.

In guitar holes, anyway. I ordered the Musiclilly one (not the one for Korean etc. guitars) and could fit it without problems. Holes are slightly different and the space to the bridge is more than the HB, but the same as on Fenders.
