Hi guys,
my ST-62 has arrived and I love it very much. Coming from a fender MIM, I have to say that I'm impressed with Harley Benton's overall quality.
I only have a problem with the guitar. The neck pocket is a tinsy bit loose, well it's nor air tight. You can see 1/2 a mm on one side etc. The neck was out of alignment by a couple of mms and I had to fix it, super easy. Now the guitar is perfect, but still the neck pocket is a bit loose. Is such a thing "normal" does it have an impact on my guitar? Should I send it back?
I believe that the answer is no, but I would appreciate your input on this.

Personally, I would think such a small gap is probably not a bad thing: the neck and body are made from different woods and will expand and contract at different rates. A small gap will allow for any movement of the wood. If the pocket is too tight, there is the possibility of cracks developing in the finish. Of course, the counter argument is that a tight pocket helps the sustain etc. If the guitar plays well, sounds good and is resonant, I suggest you keep it - unless the gap is all you ever see when you play it!
Yeah I totally agree. I've been thinking about the gap and I don't mind it at all. The guitar is great, no way I'm gonna send it back. I come from a Fender MIM and honestly this Harley Benton is equal to that one in many respects and weighs much less. Anyway thanks a lot for your comments guys.
