Hello,
I have the basic DNAfx GiT. I'm pretty happy with the sounds it makes. The patch editing interface on a computer (Windows or Mac only) also seems pretty good.
However, I started using the OTG interface with my laptop recently, and the signal sent to the computer includes the signal which comes from the computer, as well as the guitar. This makes it unusable for recording anything other than rough demos. I can only record a single guitar part in one take. There is no possibility for later editing or mixing.
I'm a bit surprised that they advertise this feature.. I emailed Thomann, and was told that this is a "known issue". They suggested I contact Harley Benton directly, which I have done. I am currently awaiting a reply.
Does anyone else use this feature?
(At the moment I'm using a Mac, but I usually use Linux. Except for this OTG problem, my only real complaint about the device is that the software won't run on Linux, but I suppose that's not surprising. When I build my next Linux machine, I guess I will try WINE or perhaps a Windows VM.)
Thanks, Michael

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

Sounds horribly frustrating mtdnelson and probably falls under that catchall "routing issue". I don't pretend that I have the answer but there's sure to be one somewhere within the monitoring and send choices. My patience is not long enough to wrestle with these things and I certainly gave up using any usb connections from my Katana amp for exactly the same reasons - my hobby is making music when the inspiration strikes, not putting the inspiration to one side and forgetting all about it while soothing my computer/amp. It's not a problem unique to home environments either, it will almost certainly happen in the studio too; I see somebody frowning and punching buttons and decide to take myself off to the kitchen with my guitar to continue the inspiration. Some time later I will called back in to hear that it was "a routing issue". If you have the patience you will sort it if you have access to the settings and can decipher their true meanings... Best of luck...and don't lose that inspiration on your journey.

DefJef Thanks for the reply!
I emailed Harley Benton a couple of weeks ago, and had a few updates since then, saying something like: We are waiting for a response from our tech department/experts/engineers.
I've just come back here to give an update. I had a proper reply just this morning, saying: We just heard back. You are correct regarding the issue. Our engineers are currently working on an updated firmware to resolve this.
I had already checked the manual, and poked through the user interface (which is pretty simple), and couldn't see anything related to monitoring. Honestly, it's a cheap low-end device, and has a minimum of options for that reason, which is fine.
I'm already impressed that I got this much customer service from Harley Benton! If they fix this problem, it'll provide a lot of value for me, for what I spent on it.
-- I know exactly what you mean about being able to create with a minimum of fuss when the inspiration hits. I'm 42, played instruments since I was a child, and have been wanting to write and record music for 25 years or so, but have never got very far.
I felt the urge again a few weeks ago, and quickly sketched up a couple of very short demos. At the moment, I'm working on familiarising myself with my DAW, finding a few plugins, and getting my little spare bedroom/office as tidy as possible, so I can just plug in and play with a minimum of fuss and distraction. Sometimes I'm in the mood to create something, and after getting everything out and plugging it in, the tiniest thing (like tripping over a tangle cables or having a nice clear desk) can throw that all off.
I'm also playing with software amp and effects modellers to see if I can get good enough performance and a sound that I like.
