Hello, everyone!
This is my first post on this forum and I wanted to ask for your advice in regards to choosing my first electric guitar. Since the festive season is starting to roll in (and things often go on sale), I've decided that now's the perfect time to finally buy myself an axe. I am still sort of a beginner and have only learned and played on an old classical guitar (for 6 months atp!) that my grandparents have kept in their attic for 30+ years, but with a new electric I thought I could maybe do better (gear cope?) and learn more. So, after browsing the Thomann website for what feels like ages, I've narrowed my options down to two particular models, the TE-52 and the JA-60; I can't really decide since they're both fairly good guitars for different use cases. While I could use the clean tone for regular music, I like the idea of having decent distortion capabilities and a beefier tone without having to mod the guitar (like doing a 4-way tele mod). I understand that picking a guitar is not an easy process and cannot be boiled down to "pick [this] 'cause it's better or [this] 'cause it's prettier", which is why I came here for some help and to hear some of your experiences; I am buying one of these in a pack with the HB-20G, the gig bag and the accessories (it seems like a big bang for my buck, though I could do just fine with the guitar and amp), but I'm not dead set on it and could also buy an MFX for the effects it has.
I am also very much open to other suggestions!
Best regards, cost.

I know which one I would not buy: the TE-52. That guitar is just too heavy.

Have you considered getting a strat style guitar? They can be very versatile imo.

Hi, if you like fender tone both are good. JA 60 have more output and sound little more fat and it's more light TE 52 it's a good compromise but it's really heavy, if this is a problem you can choose the TE 62DB or TE62CC If want a guitar more flexible i suggest CST 24 purple but price is more hight of TE series or JA 60 Given that the tone is a personal matter, a lot depends on the genre you want to play so you cannot prefer one type to another and often even with the same model there are differences, but these are things that can only confuse for now. I have had both the TE-52 and JA-60 and I also have some CST-24, personally (blues/rock) I like in order CST-24 P90, JA-60, TE-52 For first electric guitar TE-62 series should be best choice but the final choice remains yours, good luck

When you get your first guitar, it is always a balancing act. Until you have been playing for a while, you won't really know what style of guitar, scale length, string gauge etc will suit you. You don't want to get anything too expensive (in case you end up not liking it for any reason) but you don't want to get anything too cheap, in case its has flaws that make it difficult to play. All of the guitars listed in the replies have have good reviews so should give you a solid start. Despite the budget price, the TE-20 might also be worth considering. I have the TE-20MN BM model and it is better than the price would suggest. Although the TE-52, TE-62 and JA-60 have better hardware, my TE-20 is still a very playable guitar. As MartinB mentioned, don't overlook the ST models. The HSS models in particular would give you the option of both a humbucker and single coil pickups. Another way to look at it is what model would inspire you to pick it up and play.
