Welcome to the forum hank3. Although Harley Benton guitars have their fans and are generally good value, I don't think any of their guitars are particularly collectible. Some of their earlier models were closer clones to the originals, which might make them more attractive to some people I suppose. Unlike some brands (like Squier) which have serial numbers and countries of origin, there is often nothing on the earlier Harley Bentons to indicate the model/series, the year they were produced or the factory used. Personally, its value to me would depend entirely on how it looked, sounded and played. I can't tell from the advert how much the seller wants for the guitar. Assuming it is an entry level model, I would look to pay significantly below the price of a new ST-20 SB, or even the ST kit. Whatever you decide to use as a mod platform, remember that the body routing may be for single coil pickups, like the ST kit. Some posts here from the last decade suggest that the old ST-20 had a swimming pool rout. I'm not sure if the latest versions are the same but that would save you a lot of work!

Thanks for the welcoming, I read the welcoming message and didn't read about that part that I had to make a special topic about it, so I figured that wasn't a thing of manners But I'll make a new thread for it, if you guys 'n' gals appreciate a thing like that? About the tools & work; I got that stuff already and I like to make mods, I have about point zero original guitars. So, about the Strat If no one cares about the headstock, if it's even real or not, knows what it is, if they even ever used it; There's no loss in me getting it for about 75 bucks and totally ruin it? Great. 😉

Well, I'm ging to check it out tomorrow! I kinda always wanted to make a LPB over Sunburst heavy relic Strat and feel like this is my chance especially with the old Fender style headstock. Gonna delete the HB old logo and put in my Fender joker logo (F*cker Stratocrapster). And that's gonna be it!
You'll hear asap!

I bought it by the way and had it shipped to Germany. It is quite cheap for 150 total. I was expecting a piece of junk, but it is great! These are easy different though than any new Harley Benton. Took the cover off, because I expected it to be plywood, but it is actually something like ash, must be multiple pieces and probably not the best, but it is kinda heavy. Heavier that basswood and a tad darker, grain looks to be closer to eachother. Anyone know anything on the first series? Would love to get to know more about these! Greetings!
