Has anyone tried this mod with this guitar specificaly? If yes, what is your impression compared to the stock wiring? Any noticeable improvement? It looks like such a simple mod, if I understand it correctly, it's just resoldering both capacitors to the outer lugs of respective tone pots , instead of the middle one. I'm tempted to give it a try just for ****s and giggles. Thoughts?

Hi, I changed the wiring of my SC550II - Gotoh to the 50s one. It was a rather easy mod even though I am not a professional by any means. Basically, you just have to unsolder the capacitor leg and resolder the same where the ground wire (in my case it was a white wire) is currently soldered and move the ground wire where the capacitor was originally soldered. You have to repeat the same procedure for both tone controls. Sound-wise, I appreciated the difference. The volume knob is definitely more usable to clean up. Hope it was helpful, cheers.
