I want a strat just to give me a different sound from me humbucker guitars but I dislike the trem bridge, I really do and I dont use it anyway. Here the bridge is fixed and each string can be adjusted separatelly and it has two ST single coils (would love the middle one as well). I need a frankenguitar

I hope to get some recording in this weekend. ST-20, The only thing I love about my ST-20 is the neck, the Modern C-shape is so easy to play and the satin finish is smooth the cheapo ceramic PUs are too harsh for my ear especially the bridge. I liked playing the 2nd and 4th position though. Any way I have taken out those pups and now Im awaiting a cheap loaded Alnico V pg for China in hope they will sound ok

I was intrigued by how the lower end guitars were in the lineup so I helped subsidize the purchase a little. First impressions are not bad for a cheap strat. It's nice to have the Humbucker pickup in the bridge as I like a cheap humbucker over a cheap strat bridge pickup every day. Comfortable neck, flawless finish in the candy apple red. I was quite surprised! It's not a bad place to start for a new player... and the B stock I got was 65 Euro before VAT. I can't find anything B stock about it either. As I said, I wouldn't buy one for myself but I'd happily suggest it to any beginner or someone that wants a modding platform to try their upgrade skills on. And it's cheaper than buying just a finished Strat body!

Stock pickups are Strat pickups so Tele pickups wont be drop in replacements.
I replaced the pickups in mine and given the opportunity to do it again I would keep the stock ones. There was a difference, but not enough to justify it. The stock ones sounded fine.

That really is beautiful.... I had doubts about this model as regards quality... But she looks just perfect,I agree the pg would need changing however. So for now this is edging closer to knocking the te40 off the top spot in my wish list. So many So many lovely Harley's that I want...far too many, simply the whole range!!

So for now this is edging closer to knocking the te40 off the top spot in my wish list. So many So many lovely Harley's that I want...far too many, simply the whole range!! This was my first HB purchase and it has made me a convert. I dont know how well it would hold up to rigorous travel and touring, certainly not as well as a $2000 guitar. But it far exceeds a $200 guitar. It makes for a great backup, or around town guitar. Would be easy enough to start changing parts until it was built like a $2000 guitar, the body itself is excellent. The pickguard is ugly, but it's based on the Hohner "Prince/Prinz" which was based on a copy of the Mad Cat Roger Sadowsky made for Prince that had those ugly red guards instead of the tortoise. Someone would make a killing selling replacement guards for these.

I've only owned the TE-80-NT but from the looks of it they are very different animals. Two humbuckers versus two strat single coils. I'd go for whichever type I have less of.

Sounds like you need an all single coil guitar!
FWIW the TE-80 has the highest ratings of their T style guitars.
