Hi. Got my first HB some hours ago. It is the new CST-24T in Black Cherry Flame. And I gotta say: this thing is really great! I saw there was a new CST coming out soon, so I was all excited about it and GAS hit me. I wanted a guitar I could take to jam-sessions etc. without having to take one of my more expensive ones. And I was very curious about the HBs, because of all the positive feedback. I liked the colour and the fact that it said it had a coil-split (more to that later). The colour/finish is very beautiful, but a lot brighter than the first images suggested. A very nice red. They changed it already on the Thomann page. There are just some minor flaws in the finish. You have to look for them to find them. The action was quite good when it arrived, but I like it very flat, so I am going to work on that a little. But it is far from high or unplayable. Also I am going to do some minor adjustments at the tremolo, as it is laying on the body. The fretboard looks kinda dry, gonna work on that either. No big problems so far. But there is one thing that bothers me: it looks like the coil-split option is missing. Both of them are no push/pull potis. Gonna write to Thomann and ask them about it. Let's see what they have to say about it. I have other guitars with coil-split and I have been playing for a little while, so I know what a coil-split is and how it usually works, before anybody asks... But that bothers me, because it was one of the reasons I decided for it. But it is such a nice instrument and I like it very much, so I don't wanna send it back or anything. Some pics. Shortly after I unboxing. image hosting 12mbfree image hostingimage url upload

It reminds me of my old Patrick Eggle. I just visited the Thomman page about this guitar and it no longer mentions the coil split being available.

Congrats I was about to by the same guitar because of the coil split option. On Thomanns mobile website it says that it does have coil split, but it's another story on their desktop site. So I decided to contact Thomann to find out what to expect. They told me, that none of the CST models has coil split opportunity :-(
So I just ordered the CST tobacco burst with TOL inlay (also a little cheaper, and the appereance of the guitar suits me more than black cherry).
Mine is on it's way, and I really can't wait! It's departed from Hamburg now on it's way to Denmark, so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

I just visited the Thomman page about this guitar and it no longer mentions the coil split being available. indeed, in the english version there in no mention of it. yet in the german version there still is who knows maybe they could end figure out the wiring in the factory! if the push pull pot is not there, but the wiring is present it still can be done. congrats with your purchase by the way and lots of happy strumming.

If they use the standard 4 wire pickups you could as a push pull switch and get it wired up.

I think it could be four wires. There are "two" wires left. Haven't done pickup change in a long time, so maybe somebody can see something on the picture. free photo hostingI have written a message to Thomann. Let's see what they say about it, because it says it has a coil-split on my invoice. Somebody must have f***ed up a bit.

yup, there they are. the reason could be as simple that they did not have the correct pot at the time of manufacturing, and just put in what they got. once had a similar happening, where there should have use two A250K pots but as they didn't have any at that moment they slapped two B500K in there hoping no one would notice.

It's been changed in german and french also now... That sucks, i really expected that feature to be on my guitar

Yeah, definately sucks. I hope that Thomann sends me maybe a push-pull pot as a service, because like I said, it even says it has a coil-split on my invoice.

I think all those who ordered guitars that were meant to have coil split should return them and insist Thomman fit the switch in their repair shop. Anyone thinking of ordering after the mistake had been corrected will have to fit their own!
