found this interesting personal view on Solid State vs Valve amps He's not the only one. Dimebag did as well. So do I. For me, solid state is just ease of use, consistency, bang for your buck and a robust amp that can take a beating.

I still need to find a nice one that gets consistently good reviews. For every 'Peavey Bandits are great' I get a 'Peavey Bandits are overrated and one dimensional'. One came up near me on ebay recently and I decided to pass. So far the ONLY piece of research that I'm sticking to is a 12" speaker.

riemersma Dimebag hardly had a need for a tube amp with his devil sound all he needs is a high gain destruction pedal I am more talking about blues/rock kind of music were subtleties can be heard. Actually for me I care little if its a tube or solid state if it can be playable throughout its EQ range. Im sick and tired of an amp that needs re-EQing each time I change a guitar and it only has that one sweet spot. My Kustom can be dialed in nicely but its basicly a sweet spot amp and as soon I plug in another guitar good bye to those settings. I have seen an interview with Joe Bonammassa where he plays a Marshall amp that can be played with Bass, Mids and Treble to the max as well as in other positions. Now that is an awesome tool giving you many tonal possibilities. I want such amp. Here is the vid;
