As I've posted before zI simply could not get on with the Mustang I had, so it's on fleebay as we speak. Last week I went into my local shop and tried out the Fender Bassbreaker 007. Of course I am a newcomer to all this, but after the Mustang I found the Bassbreaker just what I was looking for. Sadly the price they wanted was much higher than others, and they could/would not move. So I Googled and found the 'right' price. Arrived today, so I'm waiting for it to settle after it's journey and I'll try it in the morning ... Let you know what I think..... but no need to hook up to the internet so that's a good start ....

Well I've had a day or two to play with the bassbreaker. And I have to say I love all the different tones it gives ... Not fully used to it of course, but really enjoying the experience.. SOOOOO much better than the Mustang. Well to be far it's a different animal. here are a few pictures If I'm honest it does have a slight mains hum... not too happy about that and I will talk to the supplier about it. That said it's not audible when playing at any level. I doesn't have a headphone socket, but does have a speaker socket ... says minimum of 8 ohms so I'm hoping my headphone which are 24 ohms will be okay ... be grateful if anyone has any knowledge of that one ... Happy days .... no I'm going to play with a few pedals...

That box has huge amount of gain I hear hence the hum. I'm happy to say my Bugera V5 is silent unless I turn the Gain knob over 6 which I don't do any way because I rather drive the Clean amp with an overdrive pedal.
Thanks for the pics and description.

I gather the hum is a known problem. Hope the replacement sorts the issue out. Interesting how Fender are going right back to that old amp logo. I saw a telecaster once with one of those metal plates wrapped around the bottom edge with the input jack poked through the middle. It was Seasick Steve cool. dead right DefJef The retail shop got 4 more in and they all had the same problem, so I had a refund and have now ordered a Vox AV30..... Lets hope this is better Vox AV30

Oh man I feel sad you had to let go of that Fender amp. Is this mains hum normal problem on all 007 amps or just the ones from this shop. I must say I am extremely happy with my Bugera V5 Infinium. No mains him at all. Not even hum from my single coils really cool! If this Vox of yours also has issues I would warmly suggest get the Bugera V5. So much humless tube tone for little money. Looking forward to your Vox experience!

Sorry to hear about the hum - looked like a cool amp. By the way, not sure if you tried or not but I wouldn't plug headphones into the external speaker jack - it's likely to be bad (real bad possibly) for your amp, headphones or even yourself.

forgive the absence - been in sickbay .... Anyway, back with the guitars now, so can give the Vox a good test... thing is I've also just been fitted with a pair of hearing aids and BOY doooooo they change everything So early reports are the Vox AV30 is stunning, with some great voices...and NO hum These hearing aids make everything very clear.... and Sharp ... I'll do a short video of it this week, but do remember I've only been playing for just over a year so I'm no hendrix

Glad you happy with that Vox!
Dont worry about your playing mate. For a demo it's enough to hit a chord and let it ring out for clenish sounds. Then do the same with a riff for heavier sound. That way we all get a picture of what this amp sounds like.
Looking forward to it!
