I love my ST-20 , the neck is nice modern C shape and the basswood body is very light which my shoulder prefers.
The stock tuners are great. The stock bridge is fine (I blocked mine).
ST-20 has such fine sustain. I have 10' on it.
I disliked the stock ceramic pickups and now have 2 generic China alnico pickups in the bridge and middle and a cheap China goldfoil pickup in the neck which sounds beefy. Love this guitar now.
I play all from cleans to hard overdiven Plexi sounds not high gain though.

i felt some newer squier models recently ... and i HATE that sticky, plasticky neck Some Scotch-Brite over the back of the neck and all the stickiness is gone.

Always do that, even (especially) on painted necks.
