I bought one a few years back. I had intended to go upmarket and played a load of Fenders and Yamahas in the shop but fell in love with the much cheaper Tanglewood dreadnought. The others were fine and playable but rather generic and anonymous in their sound. The Tanglewood very much had its own real character with a definite bassiness and loudness that the others didn't and it was fugly, like the side of a wardrobe. But I could not deny that it had the sound that I wanted.
It has it's place in my tonal arsenal. Perhaps not the most playable, but it has been used for many things including inserting an aluminium nut raiser for slide work occasionally and I did use it for the acoustic solo on our Bentonite song Everyone's Gone to the Zoo.

I've owned two of them over the years and they are very well made guitars, you should have no problems with it
Acoustics are very personal in my opinion. I prefer to hand pick one rather than order online,I feel with an electric I can mod it to perfection but theres not too much I can do to an acoustic.

True! One can fiddle with the bridge and nut to lower action or even upgrade them but thats it. I will go and play a few more at my local music shop and see how those Santana guitars sound. They do cost a bit more than Tanglewood. (at the end I will very likely get me a Harley Benton Im sure) ... (but one never knows) ...

I've owned 2, one midrange price point (TW 45 Cedar top)I sold to fund something else, or I'd still have it, and a higher end one I still have (Heritage TW 1000). I can speak for both of them being very very good quality wise. Don't know what their low end ones are like though
