As the title suggests I think I may have solved the sticky strings on this thing. I ran out of fast fret and being a miserable auld sod I googled alternatives and olive oil came up regularly so I gave it a try and I'm well impressed.

Isn't it a bit messy though?

Just replace the stock yellow rubber bands with a set of better strings, Aquila 91U Thunder Reds, these feel a loot smoother to the touch and also give a tighter feel to the strings.

Its not messy as you just put a small drop on a rag then wipe the strings, only a tiny amount. Ive heard good things regarding the thunder reds alright Blablas, lookin forward to trying them out. My strings are just about shot so I figured why not give the olive oil a try? I reckon I'll give em a once over with the wd40 before I give into the inevitable and finally replace them, I'm still on the originals.

As a reminder - Don't go for these they don't fit the tuners and can cause destruction of your Kahuna bass. They did for me.

Sounds like a good reason to build a Kahuna that will fit them.😉
