Always wanted a vintage white strat with a maple neck. I recall seeing one when I was just young (a Fender strat in cream white with a white pickguard) I remember not being allowed to touch it, but I did. That vision stuck with me. Now that I can afford a few guitars; I never became a brand snob. So ho ho ho.. Santa knows.. Can't wait. I know from what I have researched a new bridge is in order.. and as well as some tuners.. Thinking Wilkinson for replacement bits. Maybe some boutique pups later. And.. a mint green pick guard to give it a classic retro look.
thoughts ? Pics? ideas? Love to hear from you all!

That was my 1st Harley Benton and still one of my favourite guitars. I won't sell it. I've changed nothing in the year I've owned it, it doesn't need anything. Stays in tune, intonates, it's floating about 2mm, I don't use a trem but prefer the "loose" feel and sounds pretty good too. The neck is sweet, high gloss lacquer, some love it some hate it. I'm in camp #1. All in all I may have fell on a good one but I've had a mates American Strat and play a Fender Tele and given the choice it'd be hard to choose a keeper. I thought about the mint green pick guard too but for some reason the stock white one occasionally takes on a powder blue tint. Hope you like it.

It arrived yesterday at long last. Just like you stated about yours John, this guitar holds the same. I thought the tuners would be terrible, but they actually quite good. The Wilkinsons sound very good. The trem well.. meh. I don't use em anyways. Im from camp B though..I am not a fan of all that lacquer on the neck, but the fretwork is great, no sharp edges and action just fine. The neck thickness will take some getting used to but honestly..put this guitar next to a Squier Classic Vibe and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference other than price. Great buy. I am very pleased.

Well it's been a year almost since my last post on this guitar. I have to admit, I took it under the drill, and various other tools and decided to relic it. It started with the neck feeling just too big and sticky.. so I sanded.. then.. shaved the profile to a more of a "D" shape. Not sure how I like that now - but I cannot fault this guitar. It still sounds great and plays just fine. Will post a pic here ..hopefully it works.
