So, I posted about an hour ago asking about a Line 6 Bass Floor Pod unit because I want to add a little chorus, or reverb, or maybe compression to my HB EUB when I'm playing it.
It then dawned on me that I still have a Zoom RFX-300 unit that I Had bought about 20 years ago sitting in my box of musical goodies. (I still have my brand new Zoom digital multitrack recorder I bought around the same time in the same box).
I took good care of the unit and it still works great! You can use it live or for recording, for instrument or vocals.
It's got 22 pre-set effects: Hall, Room, Plate, Ambience (these are all reverb), Delay, Pitch, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Compressor/Limiter, Mic Simulator, Rotary, Cabinet Simulator, Compression +Detune, Compression + Delay, Chorus + Reverb, Flanger + Reverb, Delay + Reverb, Pwer Mix, Wide Mix, Boost Mix, and Vocal Mix.
All of these also have several variations to choose from within each setting, and a bypass button to turn off the effect but keep the clean signal.
Im so happy! I tried it out and it works great. Makes the EUB sound even better. I love when stuff I bought ages ago is still around and still works.
It's not a foot pedal, so I have to press and adjust the buttons and knobs with my hands, but that's totally ok. I don't think my audience (which is my dog) will mind at all.

I also had a Zoom 2020, it worked very nice for bass as well, fairly simple and intuitive to use and setup - until one of my cats peed on it and sent it to electronics heaven. Bought a Zoom 506-Bass as replacement, I hated the the user interface on that thing, I never got used to, it sounded nice but was a dog to adjust.
Zoom has always made good sounding effect boxes, the looks are not always what I would go for, the user interface is more often than not beyond my capabilities/willingness of understanding.

I've been happy with this Zoom product after all these years. It's done a good job.

Ive an old zoom bfx708 knocking about somewhere too, loved the built in drum accompaniment too, handy for practice. Never got the hang of the looper function and find my rack mount behringer more intuitive and its a bit of a pig to use but totaly felt like a result when I discovered it about 12 years after packing it in a box and discovering it still worked.
