BTW, love those old style tuners that have those holes from above where you stick the string in.

Sounds OK papache, but like you say. I got rid of my J&D surf green ST just because I found the headstock offensive.

To be honest if the axe has great playability and sounds great I could live with that headstock, but it has to sweep me off the ground with the two mentioned Still the HB ST-62 is cheaper than this one.

Me too @defjef. I was toying with that one or the cream twin pickup one but went for the surf green Strat to compare to the ST-62.

They seem to have dropped this headstock on this model now though. I'm sure Hohner used to do something like it too on one of their Entwistle Arbor Pros.

Yep, they've gone to the can opener design. The cream ones still similar to what it was but they've added a bridge humbucker.

I've an SX acoustic I bought about 18 years ago. It's okay. At least it's left handed. Back in those days there was practically no choice for lefties unless we were prepared to spend big. Up to that point I had made do with a poorly intonated converted righthanded guitar.

Yes I could live with that but WHY OH WHY not P90's and a jazz master trem please This one is basically a strat , deformed but strat.

Hello Harley Benton Club! I have the guitar shown in the video. It's a SX Vintage ST 57 VWH. I ordered it about a month ago at MUZIKER, and it had the old headstock, that probably looked too much like the Fender original... It's a very well build guitar. Especially the neck is very beautiful and it feels good. The sound is quite loud without an amp. The lowest action possible is about 2 mm on the low e-string at the 12. fret. I had the chance to compare it to a Harley Benton ST-62, and the SX won. Overall quality was about the same on both guitars. The pickups on the SX sound well to my unexperienced ears. In comparison it sounded brighter and it had more of a singing tone than the Harley. The frets on the SX are polished jumbo frets, the ones on the Harley Benton were smaller and quite rough. The minimum action without buzzing on the Harley Benton was about 2,5 mm. And because i'm already infected with GAS, i ordered a set of pickups from Alexander Pribora. I'm very excited to find out if and how the sound changes by this. Fret leveling tools are also on the way. I want to try to get the action to about 1,5 mm ...
