Hey folks Due to my Boss Katana 100 being delayed AGAIN to end of march, I´m thinking about switching it up and getting something else. So i thought ... why not ask YOU guys what you are using and what your experiences with your rigs are^^ Some points for context: Currently a bedroom player, but I´d like to have the flexiblity to start a band Had an ID:Core 40, didn´t like the sounds, prefer a "real" EQ, weird overdrive Preferred music is Indie, Rock & somehow i always end up playing something more hard rockish Don´t mind Combo or Head&Cab, I´m up for anything What i had in mind: Vox VT100X sounded great, but kinda lacking an FX loop - which the katana has (but gotta wait for that) .... on the other hand: Boss GT1 + Head + Cab could be killer too Happy to hear what you can tell me & I´m totally open to suggestions

Nothing (broken) or any software amp sim you can name ... and no pedals, it´s a completely fresh start for me

Ok, so its ok to assume that you will not be joining a band in just yet time So in case we focus on the bedroom playing I would say amp with a power attenuator like the Bugera V5 Infinium. No fx loop but is a good amp to take pedals from the front. I can crank up mine on the 0,1 watt while my son sleeps and no one hears it yet its overdriven as hell There is an option to plug into it another cab for more volume/bottom end. If you want something smaller and solid state then look at the tiny Hotone heads and choose an affordable HB cabinet. I hear these are nice sounding.

With "broken" i meant my actual old-ass fender transistor amp died ... and i mean, died - it screaches like hell ^^ i´ve had my trusty squier strat for years, been noodling here and there for years and picked it up properly half a year ago ... given that i´m playing another string instrument for 17 years of my juvenile 22 years, that half year actually was quite progressive (pays off to start out with hardened finger tips) - and indie is really easy, so who knows ^^ what i meant is that i´d like to have the option to play in a band, so i prefer some more power^^ instead of buying in it twice, i´d rather just rack up the extra money now than pay more later also, i´m not so sure about bugeras :/ the few that i heard didn´t sound great to me at all, and I´d rather go for a multi FX than buy a gazillion pedals to empty my bank account ^^ the more i think about it, the more i get the thought to just show patience and wait for the kat100 ^^

How about getting a Roland amp? If I remember right, Boss is owned by Roland, so you might get what you are looking for.
Or Orange Micro Terror + Vintage 30 cab.
