rickenbacker had a great system for that so you could choose between the 6 or 12 strings on one guitar. cause lets face it you'll be using the standard 6 string the most as a 12 is a bit of a gimmick.

Oh yeah, that 'comb' affair. I wonder about how easy (and silent) it would be to whack that into action mid Stairway. you have a point there. but why stop at two, ah heck just go al the way.

Had my 612 delivered this morning. Superb finish. Could maybe use a couple of Balance Pots in place of the Pickup switches. Fitted case is a solid affair. Removing it from the packaging proved challenging to say the least. Bought a Fender Champion 20 amp to use with it at home.
The guitar has Grover tuners and Wilkinson Pickups (anyone know much about them?). Very pleased with it. As they say on the Thomann site it is a little (!) neck heavy. Usable set up out of the box. Quite a weight, but then so is my 7 string HB bass. For about a tenth the price of the Gibson equivalent it is pretty good value.
