I decided to Puff it its a lottery, life is. Lets see what I get and if it delivers. I ordered the Rowin LFE-606, Tomsline Germanium Fuzz and the Aroma Tomsline Mod Station (I need many modeling pedals but have little money so hope this one will do it) These 3 pedals cost less than the Big Muff Pi ... I am a cheapskate Looking forward to your opinion on the LFE-606 as this has some rave reviews. I was eyeing the Muff Pi for a long time and really curious if a cheap pedal could deliver. Maybe this is of interest to someone as well: www.bigmuffpage.com/Big_Muff_Pi_versions_schematics_part1.html

I am a cheapskate I just noticed you've ordered a Mod Station too. Mine's also on it's way. I hope it pulls off the Univibe beautifully. Oh, and Kokko SOS 5 minute Looper is on it's way too. Pondered about the 1O minute Ammoon one but just knew I would get mad at the USB socket...and punish it! Oh please report back for both the SOS and Mod Station. Mine should arrive end of March or start of April if no one shoots down the Super Donkey carrying the packages all the way from China.

Just received the Rowin Fuzz and I'm not that impressed. The tone knob is scratchy. No velcro provided. The packaging is not as good as Tomsline. Less protection and overall material is lesser quality.
This pedal has heeps of sustain. It is a distortion pedal with some fuzz character and it can be tamed a bit. Still not sure if I can use this kind of distorted gainy sound. Will try it with other pedals first.

Rowin Fuzz left my pedal board! the pot is scratchy and hard to get decent tone out of it. Not impressed.

Excuse me for digging up this old thread folks, but I want to share my thoughts :-)
I've been using a Rowin LEF-606 for a couple of years now and it's hands down one of my favourite pedals. It NAILS the Ram's Head Big Muff sound. But it can be picky. With some rigs it just doesn't work.

the Muff doesn't sound great with some rigs either. Exactly!! And that's what people tend to forget. I also found this particularly interesting info on the webz: postimg.cc/QBMd1MV7

hmmm DefJef , I honestly don't think it's a rebadged Mooer. A couple of reviewers on Youtube and Amazon claim it's a Ram's Head circuit. Haven't opened it myself yet to inspect, so I realize one can never be 100% sure, but tonewise the Rowin has a few distinct tonal differences from the Mooer's description: - it still sounds big and fat, but is a bit more focused and doesn't have the woofy 100Hz bottom end of a triangle Muff - it's not dark but rather a bit brighter sounding (anything above 12 o'clock is too cutting with my Les Paul!) - it has the smoothest fuzztone I've ever experienced, slightly akin to distortion Mind you, most different Big Muff versions (and there's been a lot of 'em by now) share quite similar circuits, so even a small tweak can probably have a big influence on the tonal character. BM's are also notorious for being very inconsistent because of circuit variations (even within the same model!) and component tolerances. That means that two identical pedals can sound quite different.
