I decided today (somewhere between changing my sons diapers and dusting our home) that I need a warm creamy sounding fuzz distortion and Big Muff was the one that caught my attention on the Tube. Its not that expensive on Thomann but I could buy 3-4 China pedals for that money. Anywho, thanks to the TC Electronic Sub'n'Up I realize that China does not offer all copies of what there is on the market. Some stuff only real Brands can offer. I know Mooer has the triangle muff and even Tomsline has the Firecream and Rowin has the LFE-606 which both should be Big Muff clones (Rowin 606 should be copy of the Rams Head). They are around 23 USD. Cheap indeed. But will I get that creamy, bassy, warm fuzz sound from China boxes? Or should I just pull the trigger and buy the USA made Big Muff Pi ? Tell me all about it

Big Muff everytime papache. I know everyone's different but I don't think anything sounds the same. I've played better, Emanating Fist by D.A.M but they're about £300 I think.I got the Boss GT-8 which covers every effect I need..... except the Big Muff. It's very close but not quite there. Go for the full size unit too if you get one.

Thanks for the input john! I already place it into the shopping cart at Thomann but still deciding ... I guess what Im trying to convey here is wasting money on cheapos that dont deliver instead of saving for the real deal that does deliver. I am not happy with the NUX Chorus >(drop in volume, introduces wobble even when in bypass mode), NUX MG-200 multi unit (strange noise in some amp sims, wrong BPM in drums, looper gets jammed), NUX Amp Sim pedal (noise) but am very happy with the NUX Drive Core, NUX Time Core and Mooer Twin Reecho. All Aliexpress or eBay from China. The NUX MG-200 cost me double the price because Danish customs decided for the first time to ask me for the invoice That money I could use for saving and getting a better deal. Oh, the Mosky mini power supply, is awesome, no noise and very cheap on ALiexpress. Same with the generic patch cables that come in different colors, they do the job. So its a gamble for sure.

I've had 3 "proper" fuzz pedals Modern Big Muff Pi Fulltone Ultimate Octave Way Huge Swollen Pickle I wasn't particularly happy with the modern muff, the Fulltone and Swollen Pickle were great, I sold the Fulltone on and stuck with the pickle, there is such a huge variety of fuzz pedals out there that I think you really have to play them yourself. The pickle for instance has two internal pots that affect the mid range scoop and the clipping from soft to hard.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

What amp did you use for the Modern Big Muff Pi NYC ?

Go for the full size unit too if you get one. I dont think I can handle the big size Muff because I need to put all pedals on the shelf so my baby boy wouldnt chew on them (oral stage) I will need to downsize it if I go for Big Muff Pi (the Nano probably).

What amp did you use for the Modern Big Muff Pi NYC ? I had a Blues Jr. II at that point. My point was more to be able to try the fuzz pedals with a guitar and amp that you're familiar with rather than an endorsement for Way Huge.

I love the way Pickle sounds and would love to get one ... some day maybe.
I cant make myself pull the trigger on Muff when the Mooer has such good reviews! I am a cheapskate after all. And Thom'sLine and Rowing seem to be copying Mooer so ... (off to ALiexpress I go ... ... ... )
Not yet decided though ...

I decided to Puff it its a lottery, life is. Lets see what I get and if it delivers. I ordered the Rowin LFE-606, Tomsline Germanium Fuzz and the Aroma Tomsline Mod Station (I need many modeling pedals but have little money so hope this one will do it) These 3 pedals cost less than the Big Muff Pi ... I am a cheapskate

Maybe you should look into the BYOC side of things? If you have the confidence with a soldering iron.
