Got myself a bass and a tele... Both have beautiful grain and no important flaws. One detail I found on the tele is a minor (aesthetic) flaw in the neck pocket Interestingly, the tele seems to have 3 pieces of wood, with most of the body made with a single piece and the lower bouts using different pieces (probably started as a 2 piece and as the body was cut the lower bouts got separated from each other). Some pics...

I actually find the block inlays cool! Lucky me I'm loving every TE-52 that I see. I somehow can't gel with block inlaid 70's Jazzes no matter who makes them and I don't know why - irrational I expect. If it was plonked in my hands I have no doubt I'd overcome my objections. Nice purchases.

I was actually really worried about the wood grain after I saw this video on youtube: not so nice body

I can not feel those blocks at all, the are flush with the surface. Anywho the strings are so bloody thick my finger tips are miles away from the fretboard

I can't see all of the pictures either (just the one of the bass guitar), I'm using Chrome, any chance you are too papache? The body of the bass looks much like that of my TE-52, I think it looks great. I actually got the TE-52 as it was a copy somewhat of the 1952 Fender Broadcaster butterscotsch blond one, but I have to say I prefer this more natural looking grain type thing. I have a couple of LP style guitars with block inlays and never had issues with them. Stop complaining about the damn blocks DefJef
