To be honest, I don't have an issue with the user interface either (except for the tuner bypass/mute thing), they make good use of the small screen. My issue is with the layout/mapping of the buttons, I think they could have had more functionality in the same amount of buttons or less.

It is the user interface but I guess JAC's point is that they could have been a bit more efficient in assigning buttons to functions...there are a few buttons which duplicate actions depending on where you are. The benefit of that I suppose is that is that you are not leaving buttons unused and you simplify the 'options' available. I had another play with my Zoom just there (I hadn't used it in about 6 weeks) and honestly the interface is pretty intuitive. It's a lot better than the Windows 10 systems/control panel navigation!

Sorry, I didn't explain that very well.
The menus and where you need to change parameters is fine, in fact, I think the B3 and G3 were a huge leap forwards for Zoom in that sense. My issue is with the buttons. As I said in the other thread, I think they could have offered a lot more functionality for the feet just by assigning the functions differently to the switches, I mean, this is a "foot pedal".

Does anyone have a Boss ME70 or similar? I have a query that I cannot find the answer to. I have set up my own patches in the User Memory for all of our songs in a set list. They are all beautifully memorised and matched for levels and delays and are totally usable. I love it. I have no problem selecting banks or selecting patches BUT why do I have three patches in different banks where the pedal number flashes? What is it trying to tell me? For instance: I can happily select Bank 3 (U3) and then select pedal 1. It's light comes on and the patch works. I switch to pedal 2. It's light comes on and the patch works. I switch to pedal 3. The light flashes and the patch works. But why is it flashing? It makes me worry that during a gig if a pedal is flashing then something may be editable when I don't want it to be. I'd hate to be using a flashing patch and discover that pressing the volume pedal or accidentally hitting another pedal somehow edits the thing. Any ideas? I cannot find any mention of this flashing light anywhere online. Here's Boss's helpful page on selecting patches!

I don't have a Boss ME pedal but I'll stick my oar in anyway!
Is the effect that's assigned to the flashing pedals a mod or delay effect? Is so it's possibly waiting for you to do the double-tap thing to set the tempo?

Nothing so simple salteedog. Each patch has all those elements saved to match the tempos of the songs that we play. I did wonder if tapping the delay might be possible but once a patch is set you would need to go back into edit mode to tap a different delay which is one of the nuisances of these remembered patch settings devices. I'd like to use the expression pedal on tremolo effects too but can't seem to do it unless I am in manual mode rather than in a saved patch (unless MartinB knows different). The pedal which flashes is different in each bank too. But seems to happen every time I select it; pedal 1 in bank 2, pedal 3 in bank 4, pedal 4 in bank 5 and no other banks do it at all. I'm baffled as the pedals that seem to flash all work the same as those that don't! If I do try tapping a delay with a flashing pedal using pedal 4 (who's function is shared between being a delay pedal in manual mode or a patch pedal in memory mode) it just switches to patch 4. And if it is patch 4 that is flashing then tapping on it does nothing at all except reaffirms that it is patch 4! Silly pedals.

It’s a while now since I had my ME70 all I can recall is setting the expression pedal bit to mod. Rate. Not whether it would work in saved patch mode.

Another feature of the Boss ME70 is it's ruggedness. I just stubbed my toe on mine and it left me with a broken toe nail. They should probably include that in the ad
