Thanks for the help NAppel, I did watch the video but I guess my brain freaked out a bit about soldering things before it got to the important info (doh) I've built a few guitars but I've never really done much with electrics other than a few basic wires (and even then I'm always amazed when it works) so i was trying to think of a software fix (Guitar Rig) rather than a hardware fix (maybe with a view to doing the mod later). Thanks for the offer of help by the way (although the video does a great job of covering it). Do you think something like an EQ Shelving or Filter Module in Guitar Rig (to cut out the highs and lows) right after the guitar input and before the amp would work? I'm tempted to give the RX-40FR a try as my luck with Explorers appears to be out. Every now and again I feel the need for METAL and I'm looking for a Harley Benton to be that guitar my collection is missing... I have a space ready and everything

Cheers NAppel The support team at Thomann was really nice and agreed to have an RX-40FR checked over by the technical team there before it is shipped So fingers crossed, this time next week (I believe it may take a few days longer for the check-up) I should be able to give it a try

The support team at Thomann was really nice and agreed to have an RX-40FR checked over by the technical team there before it is shipped So fingers crossed, this time next week (I believe it may take a few days longer for the check-up) I should be able to give it a try I guess I spoke too soon I got this reply from Thomann yesterday "Our technicians checked the last 2 guitars on stock and unfortunately found some faults (warped and twisted necks, dents and cosmetic faults). Therefore, they are now being sold as b-stocks. Unfortunately the Harley Benton RX-40FR Black Progressive Series electric guitar is at the moment not available on stock. Please let us know how oyu would like to proceed.Apologies for any inconvenience caused"Ah well.. I guess at least it's good it was picked up before they shipped the RX-40FR. As I'm really still wanting a metal guitar (and I'm interested in trying the active pickups) I've now gone for a Harley Benton L-1000 VB Progressive LineIf this one fails I may have to give up... ah well 5th time lucky I hope

Its actually nice from them to check the guitars before shipping them. Oh wow, L-1000 is a nice guitar man. Much nicer in my opinion than the RX-40FR but then again I like Les Paul design.

Its actually nice from them to check the guitars before shipping them. Yeh, the support team at Thomann has been really good and helpful. I got another message to say: "We have checked the situation with our guitar quality control and they informed us, that they finished the check of the 314901 Harley Benton L-1000 VB we have on stock yesterday, so we could directly dispatch one to you."So it could be here by Monday..

I think if I could only have one guitar in my whole collection and it was a choice between the L-1000, RX-40FR and EX-84 I would probably take the L-1000 (I love the Les Paul shape also). I guess the RX-40FR and EX-84 just look a bit more METAL (which is why I picked them to start with). In the end I'll get the L-1000 and it's likey it will be the one I should have picked to start with Fingers crossed for a happy ending

I hope it is as great as you are expecting it to be!
However, I am not sure if "warped and twisted necks, dents and cosmetic faults" and "now being sold as b-stocks" is a good thing to see in the same sentence. I always thought the B-Stock were returned items, and the damaged items were "Deko".

Everybody here are talking about mods they need on the guitar for it to work... www.blackstaramps.com/products/idcore10/I have this amp... From what I have seen this problem with the guitar only happens to guitarists with a specific kind of amp... Is my amp okay? Or do I have to mod this guitar when I buy it? And if so, What is this mod everyone is talking about?

The mod is 2 resistors or what it is called, If you look at the first video in first post from around 2:30 you will see how the mod is soldered.

They have any email for this requests ? I don't really know man. But that would be a great idea if some of us could send them some emails showing they're some pretty wanted guitar models. Maybe we could start a thread with this subject so we could get as much interested people as possible... Just an idea...

You can send an email to Thomann's regular email adress that you also receive emails with when putting an order. If they don't know they will contact whoever does know
