So, I'm curious to find out more about the Sigma guitars and whether or not they are made in the same factory as our HB acoustics.
There's a couple of models that are very similar, except the Sigma guitars cost quite a bit more. I've had one of these Sigmas (and returned it, action crazy high and different colours on the top) and the quality check card with them is exactly the same as the once that come with the HBs. The strings are also EXP-16's like our HBs, for some models the electronics are also the Fishman Isys+.
I'm personally interested in the Sigma DME model. Anyone with more info on these Sigmas, or have (had) one?

There's always room for more acoustics DefJef! This is the "Sigma" story: In 2007 Martin discontinued the Sigma line. The German company "AMI Musical Instruments GmbH" purchased the rights to the name and relaunched Sigma Guitars again in 2011, this time being produced in China.
Since the U.S. rights to the Sigma brand name and trademark had been allowed to lapse by C.F. Martin & Co. prior to selling the brand to AMI, and had since been picked up by St. Louis Music of Missouri, AMI is not allowed to use the brand name "Sigma" in the U.S. for their current line of guitars. They are distributed and sold in the U.S. as Kindred Guitars. The sole current U.S. distributor is now Six String Brokerage LLC, Nazareth, Pa.
Indeed they are owned by AMI, they are located in München. So who's up for a visit to München?
