You read an awful lot about these three neck bolt, bullet truss rod ones with the tilt adjust. Hope yours is a good 'un. Yes, it's a good one. Someone played the crap out of it for 40 years and only changed the nut and the volume pot. The main issues with the 70's strats were the weight and the micro tilt adjustment that coincided with the change from 4 to 3 bolts. The idea was a good one and is still used today onodern strats but the execution was often poor. Fender grew rapidly during the 70's and demand was high so quality often suffered. The micro tilt screw goes through a metal plate and is supposed to rest against another metal plate but routings were often bad and the two plates didn't line up which allowed the neck to shift all on its own. The routings on this one are spot on. The weight issues were due to inconsistencies in wood quality, some were back breaking heavy. This one weighs in at 3.5 kilos.

I have heard it said that it was the basses that saved Fender in this period. Nice to hear a good report. Love the wood and black combo. Went for it on my Pacifica and always love it. Lucky find cerb.
