Hello guys!
Just received my new baby yesterday, and I must say: she is absolutely mind-blowing!
She looks absolutely beautiful, the walnut body stripe is well centered, the laminate/veneer top is great, the back seems to be a veneer too. Body seems to be 3 pieces ash, the bindings have some little defects but it's ok. Gloss finish on the body is ok, but there are misses on the edges, hope it won't damage the bindings with time.
Playability is just amazing out of the box, never seen that on my previous HB guitars. Action setup is a bit higher than my other guitars but I like it, intonation is perfect. No sharp frets, no fret buzz, frets well polished, tuners are very smooth and the guitars stays quite in tune.
More reviews and some pics are coming, but it seems that the model i received is a real hit!

Hi guys! Here is the link to the photo gallery for my TE-80 NT: Beyonder77's TE-80 NT photo galleryAs you'll see, there are some litle cosmetic flaws in the finish, but the overall quality is correct for that price. Can the other TE-80 owners confirm that the back of the guitar is a veneer? I can clearly see 3 pieces of wood from the side, when looking at the rear. The pickguard is not as ugly as on the Thomann's pictures. The Wilkinson PUs sound awesome, they're clearly not the same as on Thomann's pictures too, and far better than previous Wilkinson Strat PUs that I've tried. Kind of a Tele sound but with some Strat character on it. The electronics works correctly, but there's a hiss coming from the PUs, whatever the PUs combination. That hiss disappears almost completely when touching the strings, so I'll take a look at the soldering, as the hiss is probably coming from a ground loop. Recurrent issue with my last guitars (whatever the brand), as nobody seems to know how to correctly solder ground wires... It is not so complicated to do a star point soldering to avoid ground loop, and it takes only a few minutes! The guitar is not as heavy as I expected, which is a good point. The neck profile is wider than my other Tele copies, but it is comfortable and makes the flat fretboard radius more comfortable to me too. I initially bought this guitar to do upgrades on it, and make a kind of Price Tele copy, but I finally want to keep it all stock, as it is wonderful like this. Really mind-blowing! As I've already bought Bill Lawrence S1 and S3 PUs, I'm on the edge of buying another TE-80 to mod the second one!
