I think of buying one. Now, i dont want to use the tremolo so i would like to save the money and buy one with a stop tail. But the ones with tremolo have some nice additional colours available? What do you recommend? And what about the HBs? thanks!

Sometime ago I bought a CST-24T from Ebay which was in new condition and had already been extremely well set up. It has Wilkinson tremelo, (which I think is standard), with a large solid block which gives great sustain. It works well and sounds good. I rarely use it but I didn't get a choice of not having a tremelo. If I was to buy a new one from Thomann I would go for the tremelo version again. You can always block it off and make it a hardtail if you don't like it. And like you say there are the additional colours that are available in the CST-24T.

In my strat i put 5 springs in and it is fixed. Same here?

Stack of 2ps or a piece of wood to hold it in place are common choices I think.

MartinB gave the same answer I was going to give ... a piece of wood either side of the block to stop it moving. Also you need to screw the 6 retaining screw down tight to the top. If in doubt take yourself over to YouTube.

Forget blocking with wood said I I tried it on my ST20 and it killed the sustain!!! all you need to do is screw the claw all the way and screw the bridge well to the body from above. If there still is movement put one more spring.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

If there still is movement put one more spring. Interesting. Did it change that resonance as well? I'm pretty sure Clapton's were always wood blocked. As you can see my wood blocked one is way down on my list of resonant favourites. Maybe I should slip that wood out again. Or maybe it's the wrong tone wood.

Cant remember the vibration/resonance, just know that sustain was dull when I placed the wood wedge behind the steel block. The block should vibrate on its own. Clapton maybe used a Compressor to push his sustain?! No, yes Honestly I would love to get my hands on that acrylic body and metal neck guitar just to feel that vibe and sustain! No tone wood there!
