Hi guys!
The NGD began at 3.30 today at work when delivery man gave me a big parcel with Thomann logos.
I have played couple of hours on my new guitar and ready to give you a quick review, while drinking champagne. Demi sec . I will post some picks at weekend I hope.
First thing I noticed when I picked the guitar out of box - its light as a feather. I dont know from what they made it, but it feels even little bit too light to be a real guitar.
Spare lower saddle came with guitar too .
The instrument looks absolutely gorgeous, high quality of produceing. No flaws, blemishes or something like this exept the tuners are not in a stright raw. But it's a common HB producing behaviour.
The neck is very comfortable, similar to CLA-28, but not 45mm width as promised, entirely 44,4, which is much suitable for me. Action was 2,8 at 14ft, not as promised on QC - 2,5. While inspecting and measuring the guitar, came out that the neck has too big bow, thats why the higher action. Seting up the action to 2.5 with tentioning the trussrod, and if I need to lower the action in the future, I have to shave down the lower saddle, but I hope it's not necessary cos D'addario strings are heavy in itself. When I exchange them with Elixir the playability improves much indeed. And again - the bridge pins are made from a cheap plastic. Wierd. Have to exchange these when changing the strings.
Now the sound.
Intonation seems perfect, like on my CLA-28. Will see whats happened if the strings getting little bit more wasted. Sounds heavenly. Hudge brightness and sustain, just the low area feels little bit week. I dont know, maybe it improves while playing on it couple of years.
I compared the sound with my CLD41, I even changed the strings for that case on it, but they are incomparable. 30 is fragile and wild at the same time like Amazonia nature, 41 is like tarctor, heavy tool for rough workers (not bad at all btw).
O.K. its getting late and the sparkling runs out. I hope to post the pics soon.
