Hi everybody, I'm new here, bought this white beauty last week, after spending time watching many videos on the web ... So, I'm here for a few questions to ask about this guitar, the first little things I noticed .. - 1 Frets buz I've got frets buz just on the very first frets, number 1 and 2, no more. Of course I tried to tune the guitar's action with the tune-o-matic bridge and well, it's almost fixed, but not completely, as the guitar action is now around 2,5 millimeters on the 12th fret. I don't think adjusting the truss rod can fix this issue, not on these first frets. And I have to say that the very few buz staying can be eared only when unplugged. I wonder if changing the strings could help. Any ideas ??
- 2 Pickups My amp is a Fender BassBreaker 15W. The thing I noticed with this guitar is that, when plugged, one of the strings, the 'G' string is way louder than the others. And, on the opposite the first 'E' 10 string is lower. The whole thing produces an unbalanced tone, specially when playing finger picking tunes. Has anyone noticed the same kind of troubles ?? How could I fix this ?
Thanks for any answer, forgive my poor english, I'm a french Guitar player !

Well, after some playing, I come back here to say NO, the Frets buz is not fixed, worse than what i thought .. The 3 first frets are concerned, for the whole strings.

Thank you for this answer, after looking again, it seems that the second fret is not correctly placed, I mean it's not really perpendicular with the fretboard. Maybe I could sand it a little ? What about my 'unbalanced sound' issue ?

My ST90SA had misplaced frets. My old TE90P90 had same issue with the high e string having less volume in comparison to other strings.
Pickups can be changed for better ones but frets need to be perfect. I would send that one back

No, I have no issues with my Bigtone other than that the trem was loose and that was an 'easy' fix. will69: let me make you aware of the fact this guitar carries .012 gauge strings standard. D'Addario EJ21 to be exact. Contact Thomann about the buzzing issues and see what they have to say. How do the strings look, are they corroded in any way (ugly marks on them)? They'll most likely send you a new set of strings if you add photos for proof if this is the case. This guitar has a floating bridge. Make sure that if you take off the strings do it 1 by 1, or make sure you know where exactly the bridge is seated or your intonation will be off. I see Thomann have finally caught up on the fact this guitar fits wonderfully in a western (dreadnought) guitar case. They have it included in the bundle deal. They previously adviced the jumbo case for this guitar and it was just way too big.

marit.....when changing strings on a floating bridge try placing a strip of sticky tape along the guitar body right next to bottom edge of the bridge to mark its position. This helps also when you want to clean the fretboard before re stringing.
