Need my intonation as perfect as possible otherwise get annoyed instead of being inspired by my instrument It’s not the 3 saddle bridge that excites me, I have a 6 saddle on my DIY Tele. It’s the pickup in the housing. Going to try really hard to go to the men’s shed, maybe after the finishing touches to my Tele and the mods to my MS-60 I can use this site www.guitartonewoods4luthiers.co.uk/phdi/p1.nsf/supppages/2550?opendocument&part=2And try to do the lot, would keep me busy!

Oh my, Tele bridge pickup on a strat is probably awesome. That orange telestratocaster has been my dream guitar for some time. I seriously love the look of it. If only I didn't have so many guitars already! I even have an unrouted strat body almost continuously in my ebay basket just in case I can take the urge no longer.

It’s a lot like one of the Shergold marauders but presumably much more affordable and with the classic Strat shape.

Masquerader MartinB? I really like that dropped horn shape on the Masquerader. It's almost as though a cutaway has been carved out of a tele.

Ah, that is what I was referring to, just misremembered the name, the placement of the strap button which is admittedly a minor detail was off putting.
I do like it though, could be worth a try, very nice specs.
Still reduced prices at Anderton’s too.

What the strap button on the upper horn? Should be fine although I know Fender changed it a bit from the first strats so maybe there were complaints. Here's DG playing serial number #0001 strat. He doesn't seem too bothered by it.

Like a number of other guitars though, whilst it looks fine and nice horizontally it does look a bit like it's taken a knock to the horn when viewed on its stand...

Love the look of this one, the headstock too. Gibson should have changed their headstock long ago and make it look like this. It's much better when strings go straight instead of bending.

I've never played any guitar with the pickup switch back there. I have got a flipped tele control plate and like it but I just flipped the one on the tele I'm converting to Bill Lawrence wiring and I can't seem to get hold of the top hat knob on a 5-way switch. Might have to choose between a little tiddly strat type knob or flip it back again, where I will whack it with my hand. Hmm, tiddly strat knob there may be the answer too. Something else Leo got right second time around.

Yeah, I hadn’t thought about the switch placement that does look out of the way, no problem for my monkey arms maybe it’s just in reach but so far out of the way it’s impossible to accidentally hit.

Be nice with a giant Bigsby lever on it to whack it into place.

I think that the DIY route is the most appealing option, will be able to get exactly what I want.
