Last year I sold my all original PB-50, I'd spent most of the time playing the Peavey/TI enhanced one. Fella was looking for a PB and I actually made a small profit selling it Course I regretted selling it almost instantly A Photoshop mock up of the fiesta red 50 convinced me not to wait any longer so I bought another burst on Sunday, got the order processed email 10am Monday and the bass was delivered here in Scotland 12pm Wednesday. How is the Roswell pickup ? It sounds pretty good As a long time fan of the PB-50 I should be moaning and saying it doesn't match the previous Wilkinson but my brain doesn't hold memories of tones. I'd be wary if it did. MIght not believe in "tonewood" but I'm 100% convinced about the dangers of rose tinted nostalgia Bass and various other goodies arrived safe and sound. PB is in great shape, no sharp frets, scratches or dinks. Slight tweek to bridge for intonation. A few mods are planned for this one. Namely 2 saddle bridge, strung through body, pickup swap to Herrick Alnico and heastock reshape. It will be getting a Fender logo, not because I'm ashamed of my Harley Benton but because it offends certain folk

Great bass. Got a stripped down version of the burst one with flatwounds, and are planning to get the Fiesta Red when It’s available. So much bass for so little money

After seeing this I can barely wait until the lefty FR version arrives! March 26th According to the Thomann website. Not sure yet if I'm going to reshape the headstock, I do like the HB shape. If I decide to do it I hope to keep the logo intact, on a lefty it's placed in a different position.

blablas I like the HB shape too. If/When I buy another all it'll get is different strings, maybe not even that Hello, I'm a new forum user. I'm a bass player beginner from France. I just buy an used PB-50 yesterday. I would like to modify the headstock shape as you have done before (BP 51 like). I found a template. Did you have some advices to cut the headstock? What tool did you used? As you imagine, i'd never done something like this before. I have a good friend who knows the work of wood. Thanks.

Hi
It's very easy to do. This link is to a thread I did concerning the headstock re-shape.
www.basschat.co.uk/topic/321909-pb-50-headstock-re-shape/
Missing information for the template. Make sure the template prints out with 42mm at the nut area. The tools used were very simple.
A pullsaw (quicker and easier than a hacksaw). A rasp file (half-round variety). Sandpaper.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer. I realized that my template is wrong. Do you still have the one you used? Thanks.
