Hi Guys, I'm still enjoying my JB-20. Encountering the occasional intonation problem, so I'm thinking about a new bridge or at least some new brass saddles.
Has anyone put new brass saddles on (if yes, which ones?) or a complete new bridge, like one of the Fender Hi Mass ones?
I'd be grateful for any pointers.
Cheers

JB-20 has 4 independent saddles. You can not get intonation problems with independent saddles. Not that I know of any other issues than nut being cut wrongly or the strings being old! I suggest changing strings and then intonate. Brass will only mellow the tone rather than help with intonating.
I had the JB-75 and it had no issues keeping intonation. No high mass bridge there.

BTW, what tuner are you using to intonate with? Some tuners are not that sensitive and just hop all over the place making it difficult to find the right intonation pitch. Maybe you need a better tuner?

I Know, it's strange. I'm not a bass player, so I was a bit baffled. The tuner is a cheap Korg PC-1, but I think you're right about the nut. The A string wasn't in the nut properly. It was just resting on top. It was always two or three ticks off on the tuner. I've just filed the groove down and hey presto, all is well. I hadn't noticed it before. Thanks for that. I'll buy you a beer next time we meet up
