Another question is how heavy is that guitar? I see its made of Alder. The HB ST62 is made of Basswood which should be light weight

Hi Che,
the Guitar out of the box was ok. Frets and Neck great, very thick neck, which i like.
I changed: Foam underneath the Springs to prevent rattling, Planet Waves Locking Tuners, Seymour Duncan JBjr./Bridge & Vintage Rails/Neck.
I got another one, where for a pitty i damaged the Fretboard. There i only changed the Nut to Bone, Planet Waves Locking Tuners. Kept the stock Wilkinson SCs - great Strat-Sound!

Thanks for the info! Is the neck as thick as on the Les Paul or a bit thinner? I dont like too thick necks because I play chords often and find that my thumb hurts after playing a thick neck

Believe me: after playing that NEck you don't want any slim ones anymore.
The weigth of both my J&D Guitar is in LP territory, around 4,1 - 4,2 kg. But that makes the sound!

Oh man, I dont need that "heavy body sound" to wreck my shoulder even more. I think I will opt for the HB ST-62 with basswood body which is lighter. You must trust me when I say that thick neck makes my fretting hand ache after playing. Very likely to do something with how I hold the neck or how much I squeez it while playing.

Kept the stock Wilkinson SCs - great Strat-Sound! One more thing; are those pickups Alnico ? Do you have a picture from under the pickguard? I dont want ceramic pickups.

Supposed to be Alnico. Looked and sounded the same as the ones in the Vintage Thomas Blug Signature, which are definitly Alnico.

So they had poles under the pickups not the ceramic black block?

Last year I bought this model as I didn't like the shape of the HB 35. Nice about this model is that it is an exact ES335 copy (ps. switch, pots,...) Didn't have to modify a lot to it, a bit to intonation and action. Worked right out of the case (not box, all J&D "hollow" guitars are delivered with a case included !) The price was 202€ (as the model is not available anymore) Model : Jack & Danny SH 20 WR (Winered)

What Harley Benton is for "Thomann"....Is Jack & Danny for the "Music Store". Jack & Danny is germans "Music Store" house brand. It follows the same rules as HB. Good guitars for low prices. In a direct comparison you can tell the guitars cost a little more than the HBs. But they got interesting color choices and the overall quality seems to be HB standard. Some guitars comes with a case, something Thomann didnt so anymore (am i wrong?) 30 days money back.....3 year warranty...! So....does someone got a Jack & Danny? What do you think of them? Will you watch my review if i buy one?! Im very interested in some models. for example this one... check the shape of the headstock!!! or this one: Hi NAppel, Did you already buy one ?

I've got the HB-35Plus preordered, I'm a bit scared if I'll start looking at the J&D guitars I'll want to have them too.

The HB bigtone and the models from Musicstore's J&D as seen in the Gretsch thread are all full hollow body. HB35 is semi hollow like the SH20 that i own. Note the model type at J&D : SA means Std Acoustic, SH means Semi Hollow. It seems however no SH models are available anymore.

Gotcha, for the type of music I play that´s better since there will be too much feedback from a full hollow body guitar.
