The HB TE-80 NT Deluxe was designed as a replica of the Hohner “the Prinz Telecaster, so i was wondering why the TE-80 have red pickguards instead of the leopard print on the original Hohner guitar..

My guess is that it's cheaper, and they don't want to get too close to it for fear of copyright infringement.
I have one, they are a solid lump of wood and good value, despite the salami PG.

I have the guitar, never mind the salami, I love the sound, dial back the tone a bit and you get this: (skip to 3:50)

I bought one in 2016, I really like it except for the neck. I think it’s a little too thick and wish they offered parts so I could buy another neck to reshape. It’s funny that everyone hates the pickguard, I replaced mine immediately after getting it. I want to replace the Wilkinson pickups next. I plan to get some Bill Lawrence S1 & S3 pickups like the real MadCat.
