Hi guys,
I couldn't resist any longer. Those solar guitars I was watching since Ola Englund launched his brand finally became available on Thomann. My wife had told me I had enough guitars, so I could still try some, but not keep any.
Yet, I know there was a huge risk of me having a crush.
And of course, I was right. This guitar has it all : finishes, playability, flawless fretjob, , quite light weight, perfect balance and freakin' huge sound.
Btw here are two samples I've recorded at home :

https%3A//soundcloud.com/user-492302877/demo-solar-26c-metal
And, because I could spend the night writing about this guitar, let's sum it up with pros and cons.
PROS :
Flawless paintjob and finishes
Neck is a highway (satin neck, greta finger feel of the ebony fretboard)
Perfectly balanced guitar
Amazing sound from both pups. Crystal clear on split mode, more present on humbucker mode but still very nice, warm tones and very reactive to the way you play, even with hi distorsion.
Great fretjob.
Considering the price (649€), it's a bargain.
Grover 18:1 tuners very sharp on setup, keep the tune with no problem
CONS (very small ones)
Neck pup is a little bit too dark for me, but it's also due to the mahogany body. It seems that the swamp ash versions on this guitar are less dark.
Totally black, nothing to enlighten it. Some will love it, but to me, it's a bit too much.
Now, some of you will think I'm crazy or something, but I will send it back to Thomann. But wait ! I have a good reason. My wife finally authorized me to buy and keep a Solar guitar. Yet, this is the very last guitar I can buy - even for just a try - for the upcoming years.
So, I take great care of chosing the best for me among the 20+ models of Solar guitars. And I chose the A2.6 in Blood Red Trans Matte. 2 reasons : first, I find it nicer, and secund, it's a swamp ash body. And I alreay have 5 mahogany body guitars and no swamp ash. So if you see it coming in B stocks in one week or two, this will probably be this one. I've cleaned it as fine as I could, it comes with 0 problem and no default.
So this one is coming soon (well... soon... Not before august 10th which is way too long for me.)
