I've added a demo video on Youtube
In this video at 2.03 (please wait the demo with the guitar audio that will sound much better than my voice!) you will listen my HB SC CUSTOM with humbucker SPLITTED in neck position (1 position) VERSUS my Fender Stratocaster Standard '83 in neck position pickup (1 position). The ampli is a Peavy Classic 30 and the microphones are from Zoom H4N in 90° angle stereo, without reverb.
I've added a little bit of waves plugin Trueverb with my DAW and finally it was mixed in mono. Hoping you will like ... Roberto

Well for me the split SC Custom sounds best for this style of music. I've played in the demo different rhythm styles and I prefer Fender's sound that i feel more rich, picks have more twang and don't rolls high end. The HB splitted sounds enough for me but the high end roll-off and the volume is a little bit low than Fender single coil but ....
the HB is awesome for playability and versatility and for price!

I really like your previous reply ... All of us in this forum are funnyes ... I'm a fan of the good stuff, no matter the brand or the mark ... So for me Fender, HB, Gibson are only guitar's makers. We are the musicians and we create music with a 100$ guitar or 10000$ guitar. Anyone feels with own taste and also any instrument owns own quality, no matter 100$ or 10000$.

Anyone feels with own taste and also any instrument owns own quality, no matter 100$ or 10000$. I don't know many people owning 10 000$ guitars who are yet considering them like an instrument rather than an investment ... one well known bluesman is geeking like this and he is the only one I eared about
My point of view is that as long as I can consider this guitar as an item made for use and getting worn, and I can afford it, I'll do it .... putting first that I'm pleased to play it of course. This said, time passing, I realise that the preceived quality of my 10 guitars is not tightly linked to their price, though there is a trend.
but overall, the time I spent on each one as nothing to do with this perceived quality. It varies in time, sometimes according to what I'd like to play, but more often there is just no reason, it's there and I grab it.
That's all
@defjeff : this remind me of the Squier Std Strat I bought for 59€.... she just had two poks near the belt button. Of course the original pups were horrible, but I had a good feeling unplugged ( ALWAYS try unplugged FIRST ).....I had a set of pups available in a box. A 220€ value set of Van Zandt Rock pups. And once the gear put together, and set up, I got a ****ing surprise. This guitar is just incredible. At the opposite, I tried a Duesenberg set on two HB, a SC450+ and a CST24HB. Despite this set can be mounted on 5000$ guitars, I was not satisfied on both..... The Sc450+ proved to be definitively a **** and I sold it promptly ( but kept the Duesenberg pups ). Whereas the CST24HB is a great all round guitar since I equipped it with a pair of PAF-like ( I bought the pair for 60€) + coil split

I've really appreciate your post and I agree to your reasoning. Your It's also an experience that showing us that anything is relative and there are no rules. While the market have strict rules ... creativity and open mind can do the difference for our satisfaction and enjoiment. I want to say that the market creates sometime frustration if you don't have a lot of money but you can supply with open mind and interior freedom of choosing.
