Thank Martin but Im staying away from angled Gibson style headstocks too! Anything, not born off Fender design ain't for me. Even the offset might not be for me as I couldn't bond with the G&L Fallout I had. Strat and Tele are my go-to guitars. I would not mind a Tele with those Wide Range Humbuckers just to test that tone. Have you considered assembling a guitar using your spec parts? There are many kits and all things Fendery out there. You like a fat neck. So buy a fat neck, or maybe a regular profile neck with chunky frets. There are tons of cheap p90s available too. Make the pickups yourself even. Could be a cool fun project.
If you wish for a vibrato. The only advice I would give is avoid Bigsbys and their like. The only thing that I would hang one of those mousetraps onto would be a horse.

I love your hatred of Bigsbys Vincent. They always remind me of some piece of horse furniture but I've never had a problem with them. I think my least favourite is the strange hole punch contraption that is a Jazzmaster trem. Haha. My view of Bigsbys is nothing compared to the disdain I feel for p90 pickups :-) Each to their own of course.

That's the one on my radar too. But didn't Leo take that wide range design on to G&L? I do worry I'm just fancying them because they don't look like standard humbuckers. I have a CD somewhere that came with a book about guitar design and it compared a whole load of pickup designs. I must go and have a relisten. Bet it's tricky to find some cheaper versions of them...like the Jazzmaster ones or those infernal Firebird ones (Gibson are still selling minihumbuckers as Firebird pickups on their website despite knowing that they are not and twice confessing to me that they don't actually sell aftermarket Firebird pickups and promising they would address the issue - 3 years ago!). They deserve to go bust but I guess needs must when cash is short. Keep fleecing the customer hey? Read a review somewhere by a guy who played the original Wide Range and this re-issue by Fender does not have that tone! I think I shall retire from senses guitar herding and focus on music playing/creating. My tone is already there in my two guitars. Need me a few pedals and thats me sorted. I felt sick to my stomach when I received the CST-24 to be honest "Just another guitar on the wall" I thought (Pink Floyd).

Smell of troll .... Che, of course if you're not happy with this guitar, the just return it. Life is too short to bother yourself Anyway, for all what is about Bigsby & P90 => give it a chance
Bigsby are really handy to smash the head of an idiot that comes from nowhere and would like to learn to you what is good and what is not. Almost as efficient as a horsehoe with the horse screwed on it P90 are by far my favorite pups, they are as sensitive a single coils, but with an explosivity taht allow you to play from gentle clean to crunchy tones with the single game of your right hand .... admitting you have spent the time necessary to tame these beasts ... P90 are the most difficult pups to play well, but they are also the most rewarding

The price of a neck is same as a whole ST-62MN I think Im fine with the 2 guitars I have and all the rest is just me being a "western personality seeking short-term happiness in acquiring stuff" (Im actually sickened by it) In case I need a humbucker, I can always stick one in the bridge section of my ST-62 that is already routed to that spec, and the 7 way G&L harness in it has the Bass cut in case the bucker is too dark.

Totally get the short term happiness, che. An often but rarely confessed symptom that follows the latest new acquisition. We are all lucky to have what we have.
And with that I hereby promise not to look at any guitar gear sites for the next thirty minutes.

Gas is not the sole property of guitarists, fishermen have it bad I should know had over 20 rods when I was sea fishing on a regular basis only ever used 2 at a time! Golfers to I have at least ten putters and god knows how many drivers in my 3 sheds! Sheds! gardener's must get it to?
It's the continual thought that something shiny and new is better than what you have. I'm not knocking it far from it. In fact if it wasn't for that beastly thing I found under a bridge and then married, I would have guitars hanging in every room. It's like a strict school teacher, "what do you want another guitar for? You have 5 you should be satisfied! My retort for this is usually along the lines of you have 37 handbags, 93 pairs of shoes and god knows how many outfits that can only be worn once, otherwise people will think you have nothing!
So Gas? What do we do about it? My plan is when I come home from the pub one evening I shall order a jazzmaster and another Les Paul copy. I shall then claim temporary amnesia when they arrive.
Whatever makes people happy they should do, now I can't take her back to that bridge she lived under so handbags and shoes are incoming.
I would also like to apologise for my ramblings but it is very very hot and I may have had a few ciders in the garden!

Some people are happy when killing other people. Others are ready to please their temporary happiness even if that means destroying our Eco-system. Ignorance can never lead to true long lasting happiness. I sure place my self in that ship that sails the murky waters of ignorance. No saint here just p off that I fall prey to consumerism every so often.
