Hey guys, I getting ready to buy a SC-450 or SC-550, or maybe a SC-500. I hear that the 550 guitars have a more modern thinner shred style neck compared to an actual Les Paul c shape. So my question is between the 500 and 450, can someone tell me if these necks are all about the same or do each of these 3 guitars have different thicknesses? I hate buying a guitar that I can not play before and with all of the great reviews of the SC-550 I cant help but want to buy one but am hoping that someone here can tell me the difference in the 3 necks? Thanks

My 550 has a slim taper neck and the 450 I had (2016 model) had a thicker neck.
Alas I fear someone would need to report from having the newest batch of 450s if they still have a chunkier neck. It could always change especially after switching factories like in 2018.

I suppose the necks are made to specifications, not parts sourced from external suppliers like pick-ups or tuners. It would be foolish of Thomann to allow for a change in neck dimensions of successful models. Actual dimensions, like thickness at the 1st and 12th fret and maybe width too, would help.

I have a week old SC450+ and the width at the nut is 43mm and 54mm at the 12th fret. Just strung a new set of strings and I'm not willing to measure the thickness but it's C shaped and not "thin".
