Helo, I just got a quick question. My SC450 Plus came with Wilkinson alnico magnets. I've taken out the magnet bar and it looks like metal colour with black marking on the side. Does anybody know what kind of magnet it's supposed to be?

I am not able to see any images but it is common to see marking like this on magnets. They usually indicate north polarity. If the magnet looks silver in color then it probably is alnico. Ceramics are dark gray.

Finaly managed to post a picture... Thats what it looks like. No other markings on the magnet bar. I've compared it to my other A5 it's about simular in strenght, from what I can tell.

It did't break. It feels as solid as a A5 that I've compaired it with.

If you scratch it do you see shiny stuff? Ceramic is grey/black all the way through.

If I scratch it, no change whatsoever. It's realy hard to even leave the scratchmark. Here's what it looks like along AlNiCo 5 magnet bar.

So I guess that stock Wilkinsons were truly alnico magnets. BTW, they measured 8,3k (bridge) and 7,2k (neck). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they were named MWCHB on the Thomann site.

I've purchased it in 2015, just missed the old, more accurate shape. It doesn't have coil spliting jet.
