For a while now I felt the need to get me a nice inexpensive-but-not-cheap Tele style guitar.
I do have a nice Hohner The Prinz neck in great condition that was bolted to a totally f...ed up Cheri Thinline body. So I was thinking about building me a new Tele body around it. That project has been put on the back burner, I might get to it during the winter months though.
So I've been browsing through the HB, J&D, Squier Teles for a while now and -after bugging the Thomann guitar team and a lot of other people about materials and specs- got close to pull the trigger on one of them.
Alas today I found an ESP Ltd TE-202 Distressed at a good price and bought it.
I hear the relic job looks a bit cheesy close up and that the pickups aren't the best, but I already have an old Duncan T-59 (Little '59 Tele) that will fit right in there. If the neck humbucker turns out to be crap I'll probably replace it with an Ironstone Alnico V or Duncan SH-2.
Does anyone here have a TE-202 or any experience with it? Can't wait to get my hands on it.
