I see they have not mentioned that you need to return the guitar so maybe you get to keep it?
Anyway, nice to see they are willing to work with you and redress the situation appropriately. This could end very nicely and I hope that it does.

Good service in the end! Glad to hear they take your complaint serious and eat humble pie. In my opinion you did nothing wrong - screws are made for loosening and tightening.

Good service in the end! Glad to hear they take your complaint serious and eat humble pie. In my opinion you did nothing wrong - screws are made for loosening and tightening. If I remember correctly one forum member returned or was seriously thinking about returning a HB guitar because it had a loose strap button. I know I commented on the thread. Anyway, in this scenario Thomann CS might quietly think he was just being difficult but would feel bound to offer a replacement or refund. On the other hand if he complained about it and tightened the screw himself? Just sayin

Thank god you didn't decide to get modding last night! But now you have another problem. How much do you like this guitar rather than gamble on another? Anything less than 8 out of 10 and I know what I'd do...but what if the next one is a 9...or a 10? Oh I think they want me to keep this one I now have AND also send me a new one (meaning I will have two of these guitars). Thats what I gather from him writing "not refund , not discount but sending this second guitar" as an apology I think.

Now you can get a second guitarist in your band.

... I have just sent a new email asking about wheater they are suggesting I keep this old one and get another, new one also. I aslo said that is fine but I would like this new one to have the 30 days right to return and 3 year warranty (they can use the guitars serial numbeer to track this). I made it clear to them that I am paying for that second guitar to have my rights. I have no issues with them asking me to return this one I now have. If the the other one has just a tiny glitch its going back hence me needed them to say that I have my 30 days right to return! Very confusing stuff

Now you can get a second guitarist in your band. I could either mod it so it has different pups or I could sell it half price and buy new pups for this new one they want to send me. What I really need is that 30 day right to return and the 3 year warranty in case lets say fretbaord starts to delaminate from the neck (remember John's experience with TE-90FLT) or tuners get dodgy after a short while or these aluminum saddles break (yes they seem very thin)

Yes sir! And each saddle screw that adjusts the height has its own groove in the bridge plate! This is a Pro bridge folks no doubt about it! Sure it no name but its the best bridge I had so far (well, the G&L bridge was also very good must say). I had HB's with Wilkinson bridges that had the black thick trem block but they are not better than this one! Even the two point screws are better, the grooves for them are nice and tight and no way the bridge can slip off of them as it was the case with the Wilkinson 2 point bridge on the ST-90SA. They would not slip totally but could move down or up a mm or so.

Its a pop in arm but some review said there is also a screw to adjust the arm movement too (can't see itand to do this one mihg need to take the bridge out). Yes the retainer has to go away and this time I will ask Thomann to allow me to do it or else they can have the guitar back. I just asked them if Im allowed to mount two extra string trees or would that also validate my warranty. Lets see what they say.
I have got this new email from them concerning the warranty and 30 days money back for this new guitar they want to "prepare" for me.

As you can read above they say "you can keep the one you have in your hands AT THE MOMENT" so thye just might ask me to return it!
I aslo told them that I will not agree to this unless I get 7 days time for free return when I get that new guitar as I have lost days form that old invoice. They do mention above "of course there is some flexibility" ... Will need to evaluate this new guitar fast as Im not keeping it if not 100% satisfying!
