I'm thinking for recording Che so I don't need anything massively loud. The Champ comes with me to gigs and has fx pedals set up through it. It's very robust and does an excellent job. Don't get me wrong I am totally happy with the Champ to record too but the old GAS needs feeding sometimes if only to fight it of again. Its all subjective really, the Tone is. In the mix it all works anyway unless the EQ in the DAW was off To me its more about playing in the room, on my own, does it inspire me to play or does it make me sick to my stomach. Like the case of these Roswell pickups! Mind you these were into the beloved Bugera V55 and throuhg all my pedals and STILL I've got a terrible tone! One where I couldn't stop fiddling with EQ to try and get it right but to no avail! That said, be open about the amps if you test them. If they dont sound quiet right maybe you should try and borrow someones guitar with known name pups, pups which are proven to be responsive. If I only had these Roswell pups or my old China alnicos Im sure I would say that this Bugera amp was crap But when I plug in my TE-70BP with Ironstone pups then it sings beautifully. (btw, those Irnostone TE pups , sound awesome especially the middle positions both in series and in parallel). Ah yes, that GAS, and I just can't find a way to quench it!

Maybe it's recorded badly, it's very fizzy sounding to me on that demo. Like a crap OD/Dist pedal.

This is better apart from the amount of reverb imo.
