It’s ok blindwilly3fingers, it was on clearance for £834. I traded in my St. Vincent for £350 and used some of my EBay sales money to get it. Everything is stock. I say this every time but I really can’t see myself changing this one at all.

Wow the pearly gates and jazz SD's are stock, is the pearly Gates as good as they claim? That's not a bad price considering the specs, nice one MartinB

It’s good, as to whether it deserves all the hype I’m not really sure. But they’re really responsive to touch, much more so than the DiMarzios that were in the M-1000 koa that I had previously, not that they were bad.

Nice LTD ! Congrats MartinBI had no idea the M series existed in hard tail version. I have a M-1001 FR at home, with EMGs and love this guitar, plays great and sounds great - especially after I have changed pickups for EMG 57/66. Is it an original hipshot bridge ?

The ESP page says that it is. I have no idea how to check.

Ok, I got around to recording a demo on it, usual apologies for my guitar playing soundcloud.com/user-826948134/sets/esp-ltd-m-1000ht-demoNeck 1 is neck p/up in series, neck 2 is neck in parallel, middle is both in series, bridge 1 is bottom neck lug in parallel with bottom bridge lug, bridge 2 is bridge p/up in series. I used Guitar rig, same settings for all, tried to normalise my playing to give as even a comparison as possible.

Glad to hear you like it. It sounds even better into the amp, quite often I play just guitar straight into the amp. But I wanted to use the interface and GR more.
Do the different positions sound much different to you? I think the parallel have more treble but I don’t know if it’s wishful thinking.

It all sounds very balanced to me. The middle position is usually louder in volume hence maybe feel as more treble. SD humbuckers are known for being treble heavy and therefore popular amingts gigging musicians. They are expensive for my budget but I certainly would like to try them one day!

These are my 3rd set of SDs. The Antiquity IIs in my first Jazzmaster were expensive but very good, I got a jazz neck and bridge on sale but wasn’t too impressed with them really, they were better than the passive EMGs they replaced.
I really like these two.
