I've got a Fender neck and a Wudtone narrow spaced bridge lying about unused. I've been considering getting the ST-62 to make a partscaster on the cheap. Anybody have experience swapping necks on these? Would a standard Fender neck fit the pocket?

I've got a Fender neck and a Wudtone narrow spaced bridge lying about unused. I've been considering getting the ST-62 to make a partscaster on the cheap. Anybody have experience swapping necks on these? Would a standard Fender neck fit the pocket? I did a neck swap with a Fender neck on my TE-30 Telecaster, had it on for nearly half a year but changed back to the original. Exept for the fret polishing and smoothing the edges, which the HB-neck needed it really is a beautiful maple neck. It has thinner frets that may add to a vintage feeling. Neck radius is not like a Fender´s. But it really plays like butter. The corners of the neck pocket needed a little routing to make it fit for the Fender. The neck angle came a tiny bit forward with the Fender neck so the bridge saddles went all the way down. But the result was a convincing Fender feel. What I am trying to say is you may end up with a cheap Strat-like guitar that you don´t want to change the neck of. I added T-Tune bridge saddles that perfect the intonation and add sustain. I am fully satisfied with the result. Good luck
