Hello everyone,
I just took delivery of a fabulous Harley Benton Custom Line CLJ-412E NT. It's a 12 string, just in case you didn't know. My question is does anyone tune a 12 string one step lower and use a capo any more? It used to be that there was a perceived danger of the neck warping or breaking if in standard tuning. What are the current views and recommendations? I really hate having to use a capo unless absolutely necessary.
Thanks. Mike

I know some people tune the 12 string guitar down one or even two steps (Uriah Heep: "The Wizard"), but it means that you probably need to adjust the action little bit higher to avoid the fret buzz. I'm not recommending to do that because it's really hard to get used with capo. I think this guitar is strong enough for 010 set of strings in standard tuning. Send some pics and give us a little review of your new beauty.
