Music Store's house brand, equivalent to Thomann's Harley Benton. They have been around for a while, yet no one has been making ecstatic videos about them, so I assume they are not quite up to the competition but I wouldn't be surprised if they were just as decent. Re-sale value will be close to zero, of course.

I like the Fame guitar except for the toggle switch for the coil split. A simple push push or push pull would be better in my opinon. If there is more to it than that then sorry for any mistake, as I read it in Italian. Before I went to the URL I was thinking it would be something like 199 euros but it is 666. It has Seymour Duncans and a one piece neck. Not able to see how many pieces for the body but it looks good front and back. Could be a really good guitar but a PRS SE Custom 24 might be a better option. I do like the natural finish. It would look good on LeoThunder's couch anyway.

I remember reading a review of Fame guitars in Guitarist magazine a few years back. I think they were built in Eastern Europe which made them a bit different but the magazine seemed to be a bit baffled by them, being very much PRS clones but more expensive than some of the PRS models and with a few detailing issues.

Okay well I have been aware of the brand for some time but I thought they were made further East. I don't think many PRS SE models have one piece necks?

Polish built maybe? Quite unusual in itself these days. I must find that Guitarist magazine. What do you mean by a one piece neck, Vincent ? I really like that satin finish on it and would go for a toggle switch over a push-pull knob, but would also go for a push-push over a toggle but they seem to be so rare. I love 'em, wham it's on, wham it's off again. Great for a solo between rhythm sections.

I did a little digging and it appears that Fame guitars are affiliated with Mayones and are handmade in Poland. I also saw some chatter about them being made in Korea at one time but how true this is I cannot say. 666 euros is very cheap for a handmade guitar. By one piece neck I mean the neck appears sculped from one piece of timber. Not laminated with two, three pieces or more. No scarf joint and no built up heel using scraps from the floor. I am not sure about the locations of the control knobs. Especially the tone control (if that is what it is) below the stop bar. Fame make a Forum III model with tremolo and the control knobs are in different positions. I do not know if all Forum III models feature a misaligned strap button at the wide end. Or maybe it is the veneer joint that is not centered on this example.

Ah, I'm with you about one piece necks Vincent . Not sure PRS build up the heel but yep, a 'stronger than Gibson' scarf at the headstock end plus 'ears' does all cut down on wastage for sure. I avoid flamey veneers anyway so wouldn't go for one aligned or misaligned and generally find PRSes are better turned out than I am on stage so they make me look severely under dressed. I can't have that so I rock a worn tele. I could just about go for their Bay Bridge Blue though. Very much my cup of tea. I'd rather do without those flying birds too. I do like the cherry finish on the Forum II though. Again I could lose the FORUM inlay and, to be honest, the name Fame just makes it feel like it's marketed at Taylor Swift wannabee teenage girls. Then again so does a flock of Swifts flying up the neck of a PRS. Why not unicorns? Or a nice rainbow? EDIT> . I just noticed, they don't have that FORUM 12th fret marker any more so my previous comment (like most of them) was totally irrelevant.

That SE Standard looks great except that the pickups and mounts do not blend well color-wise to me. Maybe in person the contrast is not so dramatic. I am not really a fan of ornate boards and busy tops either but a little figuring is nice. Some of the Fame Forum models have piezo pickups too I believe. Yes, Fame sounds like a silly brand name for a guitar. I read they have low resale value too. Like PRS

Haha. It was the cream with blue that really appealed to me. Probably my favourite strat colourway too. Blue and cream or something surf greeny and cream. Probably why it was the only one in the PRS lineup that appealed. There was a gold single cut one too that I mistakenly took for TV Yellow. I liked it till I zoomed in!

I absolutely dislike these inscriptions that are sometime found at the 12th fret, like that "Forum" here or some model numbers on LTD guitars I have seen. I don't like the PRS birds either. I like something more subtle, like the diamonds on my Aria or the waves on one of my Ibanez. Small offset dots are a favourite.
