I've been looking for an starter amplifier and the amps made by them fit (at least in appearance) characteristics that other brands have for more price. Anyone here have experience with them?

I don't. Still, I think basics can be assumed: Harley Benton amps will likely have a similar quality to their more expensive equivalent by renown brands. After all, Cory Mura was not calling this a piece of trash, and I believe he would if he thought it were: I have a Fender Mustang 1 V2 with an 8" speaker and it sounds great in my living room, but it is a modelling beast and I am not using it loud. If you want a regular, non-modelling amp to start, you can always supplement it with a multi-effect box anytime. For 39€, I suppose the Digitech RP 55 will enable exploration of the realm of guitar sounds in all it variety. At this point, however, it might be worth considering the Fender Champion 20 which comes with sufficient modelling and effects to provide something similar in one box for 10€ more.

I recommend a decent modelling amp for beginners too. You'll have enough variety of tones to keep you interested and motivated. The Fender Mustang I is a good buy. What budget do you have in mind?
