Hiya crew, Does anyone here actually own the Harley Benton Reso-Bass? I'd really like to get one some day, before they stop producing them and would like a hands on review. Thanks!

Hi I own a ResoBass since a week. It is well made and beautiful. It has also a good WAF. The E string have a little buzz noise when the finger release the string. I will change the strings for flatwounds to see.Maybe it's normal with resonator instruments... I don't know because it's the first one I get. I'm a guitarist first and beginner with bass but if you want some details tell me what you want to know. excuse my poor english but I'm french.

I have been wanting a reso-bass since I saw them last year. I hope, when I can finally buy one, that they are still available. You mention good WAF. I don't know what that means. Would you explain, please? How is the weight? Is it loud when you play acoustically? Do you think you could play together with an acoustic guitar and be heard? No worries about your english, friend. We are all from the same place, here. The world of Harley Benton

WAF is Woman Acceptance Factor. It's because I have a dozen string instruments (acoustic and electric guitars, bass, ukulele, mandolin) and it's the first time my wife accept to have one to hang on the wall of the main room of my house instead of my music-office room It is really beautiful but you have to wipe it often... The weight is 4,2 kg . A little high but steel is heavier than wood... It's not very loud acoustically. It makes more noise when you slap or with a pick. fingerstyle is lower. With an acoustic guitar it depends on the size of the body. better play with a little guitar than a jumbo... Some links to hear from youtube that I've found that made me buy it: For the price I don't regret at all to have bought it. It's quite a rare instrument.

Hi gibemato and welcome! Thank you so much for posting your opinions, and especially the videos, we were starting to think that these were just imaginary basses created to give GKon gas! I also think this is the first bass with WAF that I have heard of!

FUNNY regarding the WAF. HAHAHAHAH!
I'm not married (yet) but my girlfriend, thusfar, is very supportive of all my GAS. HAHAHAHA.
Is the reso-bass also electric? Or only acoustic? I've been assuming, all this time, that it's also electric.

Judging by the fact it has two knobs my first guess would be it's electric.

If acoustic sound is a little weak, plugged in a bass amp it delivers a real big low sound good to my ears. Although I'm not a specialist and my only reference is my Steinberger Spirit 5 strings. But the Resobass sounds better in my TC Electronic 250-15 amp.

Man that one would be on me list if it was around 50 Euros but since I have no such money I will be watching your demo vids instead
